Sorry for the last minute notice but I figured I’d remind people that the annual Ride Like an Egyptian in DeKalb, Illinois is tomorrow morning.
The ride offers 25, 50, 75, and 100 mile routes with a central rest stop.
“This bike ride offers four mix-n-match 25-mile loops. Loop 1 starts at the Egyptian Theatre (135 N. 2nd Street, DeKalb, IL) and goes east to Maple Park, IL. From the Maple Park central rest stop, you can ride any (or all) of three 25-mile loops before returning to the Egyptian Theatre.”
Registration runs from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and costs $25 for adults. An additional $12 gets you a commemorative t-shirt. And let’s be honest. We all do these rides for the t-shirts.
Max did this ride last year and really enjoyed it even though it was rainy and cold, much like tomorrow morning will be.
With start of ride temps hovering in the mid 40’s, you’ll need to dress appropriately for this one.
You can print out registration forms on their website.
Last year the ride attendance was down due to the weather. We hope to to see a lot of Rockford cyclists there toughing out the cold. After all, this is good practice for our soon to be announced third annual Tour de Frost!
